He is content, if not somewhat bothered, by his loneliness[2]. Dr. Nidhi Verma on the other hand (Kritika Kamra) is a vivacious and bubbly young woman who looks upon life with a sense of humor. This carefree nature of hers initially irritates Ashutosh but he eventually falls in love with her.[2]. In steps Rohan, a humorous and kindhearted young man who comes to stay with Nidhi's family, and Armaan, Ashutosh's childhood friend. Both unite the lovebirds and therein begins the beautiful and stormy journey of Ashutosh and Nidhi's love story. After Nidhi and Ashutosh get married, the problems and ordeals that the two must go through follow shortly. In a side-story, Anji, Nidhi's best friend from childhood, and Dr. Rangnath, a colleague of Ashutosh's, fall in love with each other[3] and must overcome the obstacles both their families present in order to get married. Dr. Mallika, another one of Ashutosh's colleagues and his close friend since 12 years, is madly in love and obsessed with him and continuously tries to sabotage his relationship with Nidhi, going to any length for it.
